“A THOUGHT OPTS FOR THE SCENIC ROUTE” is an abstract wall sculpture commissioned by the Nebraska Public Art Program for the University of Nebraska’s Physics and Astronomy department. The title is a reflection on how creative solutions often take a circuitous route that skips over logical progressions and predictable approaches. If there is any symbolism in the composition at all, it is probably to be found in the long black arc which traverses the length of the design while many colorful and distracting vertical elements are unable to impede its determined progress.
The sculpture is visible from all three floors of the Jorgenson Hall Physics and Astronomy Building.
